On the day before you came
You sat with  Universe and had tea—

“Is there anything you need of me this time ‘round ?”  you asked.

Universe smiled – and sipped the tea

“Perhaps-” you continued,
“You need a great leader to help the people break their chains of bondage”
Maybe a wise sage – or a healer!” I can do that!”

“Hmmm…” was all  Universe could reply.

“Or perhaps you need a great villain to expose their dark sides, you know shake ‘em up a bit! Open their eyes and…”

“I see” was  Universe’ reply—

“And what do you ‘need’ this next time ‘round?” asked  Universe

You took a long sip, adjusted yourself on your star and stared into the comfort of the infinite.

You then took out a note pad and reviewed its’ contents.

“You know, I’ve actually done all those things, I don’t really need to experience them again”

“But how about this” you continued. “A relationship with that part of me that I met some time ago, but never really completed. You know – no closure, didn’t quite get it. As I recall now we agreed to let it go and said we’d take a fresh look at it –later.” “Yes.” I’d like to experience more of – Me!”

“Whattya think?”

Universe put down the cup of tea, reached out and held you close. A nebula tickled your nose and a tremor reverberated around you that could only be translated as a chuckle.

So… you and  Universe conspired together, over tea.

Looking through your past lifetimes, over lessons learned and forgotten. Loves won, lost or otherwise. Places and times were all reviewed in the blink of a star.

And when it was done you and the universe held up your plan and exclaimed together,

“Perfect!”

The details were uncountable. A veritable roller-coaster ride sprinkled with mothers and fathers and children, teachers and students. Experiences of pain and pleasure, depression and triumph. And all these aspects took on the forms of relationships. Sometimes fleeting, sometimes lasting. But as you had planned they all had something to show you – about you.

You turned to  Universe once more just as you were getting ready to leave.

“You know this is the most difficult part, I am going to forget” you said, “and I am going to miss you oh so much”

‘’I know at first it will seem a little difficult replied  Universe. “
At times it gets so heavy down there. But everyday, every moment, you will have little hints that your plan is working just as it’s suppose to. Just do your best to remain open enough to receive them.”

One more hug and you noticed how that feeling of warmth, and security clung to you like a favorite blanket.

And as you were hanging around being kept warm and buoyant getting all-anxious and a little psyched up about the whole process, you realized you really weren’t going to miss your friend at all and that you were going into this experience together, hand-in-universe, experience and experience-er, one-and-the-same.

All on the day before you came.

have been so overused and abused that most of us are numb to them.

explore pronoia, you can’t afford to have an impaired sensitivity toward
the Great Mystery.

Here’s an idea to stimulate your search: The Russian word for God is
“Bog.” The Basques call the Supreme Being “Jingo.” To purge your
psychic dockets of built-up fixations about deity, you might try singing
improvisational prayers to “Jingo Bog.”

Here are a few other fresh names to inspire you:

Blooming HaHa
Divine Wow
Whirl-Zap-Gush
Sublime Cackler
Chthonk Riddler

Since ancient times, China has hosted three religions: Confucianism,
Buddhism, and Taoism. Many Chinese people have cobbled together a
melange of beliefs gathered from alt three. This is different from the
Western way, which is to be faithful to one religion or another, never
mixing and matching.

But that’s changing in certain enclaves in North America, where growing
numbers of seekers are adopting the Chinese approach. They borrow
elements from a variety of spiritual traditions to create a personalized
path. Religious historians call this syncretism.

As you meditate on conjuring up your own unique mode of worship, think
of the good parts you’d like to steal from other religions.

Most religions designate a special class of people — priests, rabbis,
ayatollahs — to oversee official communications with the Source. This has
led to a prevailing assumption, even among those who don’t follow an
established faith, that we can’t initiate a divine conversation without the
aid of a professional class of trained mediators. Among some sects of the
ancient gnostic, in contrast, everyone was regarded as a potential
prophet who could experience epiphanies worthy of becoming part of the
ever-evolving doctrine.

The equivalent today would be if the Bible were regarded as an unfinished
text to which every Christian or Jew might be eligible to add new content.

As you create your own spiritual path, experiment with this do-it-yourself
approach. What might you do to eliminate the middleman and commune
directly with the Source ?

All is here—now.
If there is any request of you it is to allow yourself to remain present and as open as you can … to you!
It may be that you open wide to you today.
It may be that you peek through a crack and find a glimpse of you today.
The door opens, as you are ready.  No sooner.  No later.

And thus we create the connection

The YOGA -

Between

The anxiousness to see
And
The patience needed
To wait for the understanding.

It’s that space between the in-breath and the out-breath.
It may be uncomfortable at times.
Opening to ‘us’ can be so damn uncomfortable.

But it is in this space that we remember and receive.

Listen for it with your heart.
Feel it with your body.
Relish it with your spirit.

Sometimes I greedily plunge this spoon in, other times I am more timid and even afraid as thoughts of “will I like it?” get in the way of the experience. But even if the taste is bitter at first it nourishes me and becomes an acquired taste called wisdom that guides me in widening my circle of acceptance and compassion.

Infinite possibilities, infinite blessing,
