Pricing Guidelines

From concept through production of an original logo or graphic illustration the hourly “rate” is $75.00/hour. For print layouts and design using existing graphics and/or photos the rate is $75.00 an hour.

To put this another way: If you need a black and white rendering of a cat – just a cat-lying down, doing nothing in particular, it will be charged at the $75.00 rate. Now, a cat playing a fiddle or playing a fiddle in color or a cat playing a fiddle in color that must be larger than 8 ½” x 11″, formatted in jpeg, pdf, png or whatever are varying prices; depending on the time it takes to accomplish the final piece and the number of “adjustments” made by you who have commissioned the piece. If you already have the picture of the cat and you need an ad layout to surround it or have it placed into, the $75.00 an hour rate will apply.

A Quick overview of the process

As the customer, you might come to A Studio for Unlimited Ideas and say that you want some illustration, logo, graphic or print layout. After the initial consultation (which is at no charge to you) you decide you like “the way I draw”, we get to the part where you describe what you are looking for, and how you are going to use the illustration, if it is to be in color or black and white, etc. After the initial consultation (usually about an hour, sometimes more) “the meter is on” and a 50% deposit is required to get the process underway.

A pencil sketch or a mock up jpeg is created/rendered as a method to make sure that both parties are thinking along similar veins. An adjustment or two may be made at this point without any extra charge. When the go ahead is given, the studio will execute the final version.

After the graphic, illustration, logo, layout or design is complete all further adjustments, redraws, etc., are at the $75.00 hr rate. If, after completion, the customer decides he/she does not want to use the finished product (for whatever reason) the client pays a “Kill Fee” of 50% of the balance remaining of the finished piece.

Other factors that may determine price

1) how involved the studio is in developing the concept itself
2) the customer’s budgetary parameters
3) royalty considerations.
