What is faith??
While standing in line waiting for some herbal patches to be administered to my back for the Qigong version of allergy relief I was caught up in a conversation with a gentleman who attended and we fell into conversation on Qigong, health ,longevity, death and all those questions that we have such a great time trying to answer.
This gentleman related to me the story of his grandfather who had passed just recently at the age of 95 and we marveled of course on that milestone and agreed that “Well he’s lived a pretty long life – probably no regrets and as he lived such a long time we surmised it was because he had such a wholistic/positive look on “all of it”
“Grandfather was a golfer well into his later years” said my friend “And he would often say of those years; ” You know I can’t see the hole anymore, I just know it’s there…..”
Are we playing this game with the faith, that inner-knowing- that the ‘hole’ (whole) is always there, always in receptive mode, and we are always letting go (hopefully joyously) to an unknown. As Joseph Campbell said “We are in a free-fall into future – we don’t know where wwe are going” Turning the fall into a voluntary act … a shift in perspective…”
