Some more words on Gurus

Many moons ago as I embarked on a a path in which hatha yoga was a very intrinsic part, a phrase came to me “Le Guru is You!” I liked it’s ‘flow’ its cute little rhyme and I created a character to go with it,  sort of a throw back to the generation of seekers that —- well for lack of a better term were “consciously unconscious”  Some 15 years (or more) later a film maker has “heard” my thoughts as well as many many avatars and saints that have proclaimed the very same  idea and brought it a to film called “Kumare” it has been out for a few of years now. I would highly recommend it. It’s a keeper.

The following is a TED talk by the films producer, writer, director Vikram Gandhi, that promises to be, well – enlightening!

Some parting words on gurus from a guru; Ramana Maharshi:

“He is the proper Guru to whom your mind is attuned… if one wants to know the swarupa (reality, true nature) of the Guru, one must know one’s own swarupa first. How can one know the real nature of the Guru if one does not know one’s own real nature first? … One must see the Guru in all living beings. It is the same with God. You must look upon all objects as God’s rupa [form]. How can he who does not know his own Self perceive the real form of God or the real form of the Guru? How can he determine them?

Therefore,  first of all, know your own real form and nature.
