A Meditation:Growing

We grow helplessly. Not because we’re helpless. But because we can’t help it. For every stepping step. Every passing day. Every repetitive lesson, aware or not. It happens. It’s happening. Calibrated to the natural laws of the universe. Nothing stationary. Nothing fixed. Nothing finished. In every moment. We are exactly where we belong.

heart openingAnd yet too, nature as well demands a duality, a pair, a paradox. There exists our choice. That consciousness. That possibility. That ability to embody our freest of wills. We choose where to place that most physical attention. Choose to love or to fear. To need security or to trust willingly. To openness or confinement.

Growth. A beautiful symbol of that delicate balanced duality alive in all of nature. And so perfectly inside us. Guided yet free. A net to be caught with yet seemingly boundless in freefall.

The most basic and magical definition of mystery.
